What Does a Small Bowel MRI Scan Involve?

A small bowel MRI scan examines the small intestine and is often used to assess conditions such as Crohn's disease. The scan takes approximately 40-50 minutes and typically requires you to drink a contrast preparation beforehand to distend the bowel. Intravenous contrast may also be used.
