TruAge Test

TruAge Test

From£337.50

TruAge by TruDiagnostic is an at-home epigenetic test that shows how your body is ageing at a cellular level. TruDiagnostic's CLIA-certified US laboratory reads over 900,000 DNA methylation markers from a finger-prick sample and turns them into your biological age (OMICm Age), your pace of ageing (DunedinPACE) and the age of eleven body systems, with fitness, telomere, immune-cell and lifestyle-exposure estimates alongside.

Your report is written by Lola. Your measurements are placed among people of your age and sex in the laboratory's reference cohort and explained in plain English, with a reading guide, general lifestyle guidance and a retest plan, so your next sample tells you which way you are moving. It arrives as a PDF by email and lives in the Lola app.

Lola is the official partner of TruDiagnostic, bringing the pace-of-ageing test (the DunedinPACE method) to the UK and Europe. This is the same test used by Bryan Johnson, Peter Attia and leading longevity researchers, and Lola is the official route to access it in the UK and Europe.

This is a wellness service, not a medical device. The report is an epigenetic ageing readout and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, prediction, prognosis, monitoring or treatment of disease, and it does not include a doctor review. Your sample and its methylation data are genetic and health data: processed on your explicit consent, never sold, deleted on request. See our Wellness Disclaimer and Privacy Policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the TruAge test measure?

The TruAge test analyses over 900,000 DNA methylation markers. Your report leads with three figures - OMICm Age, overall systems age and pace of ageing (DunedinPACE) - followed by eleven body-system ages and methylation-based estimates for fitness, telomere length, immune cells, and smoking and alcohol exposure. Unlike wellness panels that measure fluctuating daily metrics, this test reflects how your body is ageing at a molecular level.

How is biological age different from chronological age?

Chronological age is how many years you have lived. Biological age estimates how old your body appears at a cellular level, based on DNA methylation patterns. Two people born the same year can have very different biological-age readings depending on lifestyle, genetics and environmental factors.

How accurate is the test?

TruAge uses validated epigenetic-clock algorithms based on peer-reviewed research. The test is most informative for adults aged 20-70. Results represent a snapshot influenced by recent lifestyle factors and are best used as a wellness tracking and motivational tool alongside regular wellness testing.

What sample is needed?

The test uses a finger-prick collection kit you do at home. There is no clinic appointment, no phlebotomist booking, and no fasting required. The collection itself takes about 5 minutes. Results typically take 3-4 weeks from the day TruDiagnostic's CLIA-certified US lab receives your sample.

Can lifestyle influence my biological-age readout?

Research suggests that exercise, quality sleep, stress management, a Mediterranean-style diet, not smoking, and moderate alcohol consumption are associated with shifts in biological-age readings over time.

How often should I retest?

Every 6-12 months. Epigenetic changes occur gradually, so retesting more frequently than every 6 months is unlikely to show meaningful change. This interval allows time for lifestyle factors to register.

Our process

How it works

step 1

Order your kit

Place your order through our website and receive your TruDiagnostic collection kit at home. It includes everything you need for sample collection, with clear, step-by-step instructions. No prescription or clinic visit is required.

step 2

Collect your sample using a finger poke

Use the included lancet to perform a quick finger poke and place a few drops of your sample on the collection card. The process is simple, safe, and can be done entirely at home in just a few minutes.

step 3

Send your sample and receive your report

Return your sample by following the instructions included in your kit. It will be analysed by TruDiagnostic's CLIA-certified lab in the United States. Return postage is arranged by you (from £20 depending on your country). Once the US lab receives your sample, results are typically ready in 3–4 weeks. Lola writes your report from the laboratory's estimates and sends it to you as a PDF by email; it is also available in the Lola app.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this test developed by Lola?

No. The kit and the laboratory analysis are TruDiagnostic's, a leading US epigenetic lab, and Lola provides access through a direct partnership. The report you receive is written by Lola.

What does this test measure?

Over 900,000 DNA methylation sites, read from one finger-prick sample. What your report covers depends on the test: TruAge reports your biological age (OMICm Age), pace of ageing (DunedinPACE) and eleven body-system ages, alongside fitness, telomere, immune-cell and lifestyle-exposure estimates; TruHealth reports methylation-based estimates across lipids, fatty acids, metabolism, amino acids, inflammation, immune cells, organ markers, vitamins, neurological markers and environmental exposures. The full list for this test is in the What gets tested section above.

Is this a genetic test?

No — it’s an epigenetic test. It doesn’t examine fixed DNA traits but rather how your genes are expressed based on lifestyle and environmental factors.

How do I collect the sample?

Using a finger poke with the included lancet. You’ll place a few drops of your sample on the collection card provided in the kit. No clinic visit or phlebotomy appointment is required.

When do I get results?

Results are typically ready 3–4 weeks after your sample arrives at the US lab. Your report is sent to you as a PDF by email and is available in the Lola app.

How does Lola's report compare with TruDiagnostic's own?

Same test, same laboratory, same data. We write our own report so that it meets UK and EU rules for a wellness product, and it carries every ageing estimate and marker your test measures, each placed among people of your age and sex.

How does this comply with UK and EU rules?

Medical devices. UK and EU rules (UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002; EU Regulations 2017/745 and 2017/746) treat software that diagnoses or scores you for a named disease as a medical device. Our report stays on the wellness side of that line: it gives you your measurements and explains how to read them.

Your DNA data. Your sample and its methylation data are genetic and health data under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and the Human Tissue Act 2004. We ask for your explicit consent, never sell your data, and delete it on request. See our Privacy Policy.
