Why both tests, together
TruAge estimates your biological age, pace of ageing and the age of eleven body systems. TruHealth reports methylation-based estimates for the markers themselves: lipids, fatty acids, metabolism, amino acids, inflammation, immune cells, organ markers, vitamins, neurological markers and environmental exposures. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between TruAge and TruHealth?
TruAge estimates how old your body appears on a cellular level (biological age, pace of ageing, eleven body-system ages, telomere and fitness estimates). TruHealth reports methylation-based estimates for the markers themselves — lipids, metabolism, inflammation, immune cells, vitamins, neurological markers and exposures. They use the same lab method (DNA methylation) but answer different questions: TruAge is "how am I ageing?", TruHealth is "what do my markers look like right now?". Together they give you the complete picture, in one report.
Do I need a phlebotomist?
No. The bundle uses a fingerprick collection kit you do at home. There is no clinic appointment, no phlebotomist booking, and no fasting required. The collection itself takes about 5 minutes.
How long do results take?
3–4 weeks from when TruDiagnostic's lab receives your sample. DNA methylation analysis is genuinely complex — 900,000 markers per test, run on Illumina EPIC arrays, with proprietary algorithms applied to the raw data. Faster results would mean lower-resolution science.

Is this the same test Bryan Johnson uses?
Yes. The TruDiagnostic TruAge Complete is the test used by Bryan Johnson's Blueprint protocol, Peter Attia, Ben Greenfield and most of the leading longevity researchers and clinicians. DunedinPACE — TruAge's pace-of-ageing algorithm — was developed at Duke University and is the most validated rate-of-ageing insight in peer-reviewed literature.
How accurate is biological age testing?
TruAge's algorithms (DunedinPACE, OMICmAge, SYMPHONYAge) are based on peer-reviewed research with extensive longevity validation. Most informative for adults aged 20–70. Results represent a snapshot of cellular ageing influenced by recent lifestyle factors. They are most useful when retested every 6–12 months to track change over time, rather than as a one-off number.
What can I do to lower my biological age?
The interventions with the strongest evidence are: regular aerobic and resistance exercise, 7+ hours of quality sleep, a Mediterranean-style diet, stress management (meditation, breathwork, social connection), not smoking and moderate alcohol.
How often should I retest?
Every 6–12 months. Epigenetic change is gradual, so retesting more frequently than every 6 months rarely shows meaningful movement. The most useful thing TruAge gives you is the trend: where a measurement has moved since your last sample, the report prints what it was alongside what it is. We will email you a retest reminder.
Will my data be shared?
Your sample is processed by TruDiagnostic in the US under HIPAA and Lola Health is GDPR-registered in the UK. We do not sell your data. Your report is available only to you through your Lola account, and you can request deletion at any time.
